The scope of the 4th and 10th Avenue, Austral project, contracted by Burton Contractors, involved the installation of a comprehensive stormwater drainage system. This included the excavation, bedding, laying, backfilling, and compaction of reinforced concrete pipes ranging from 375mm to 1200mm in diameter. Additionally, the project encompassed the installation of precast stormwater pits (900x900 to 1650x900) with single grates and lintel openings to effectively manage water flow. The works also involved the removal and replacement of existing stormwater lines and pits, as well as excavation of trenches and subsoil works. This project delivered a durable, efficient, and environmentally responsible stormwater solution across both avenues, meeting all environmental and construction standards.
THE SCOPE
Reinforced Concrete Pipes (RCP) Installation:
• Excavation, bedding, laying, backfilling, and compaction of RCPs ranging from 375mm to 1200mm in diameter.Stormwater Pits and Grates:
• Installation of precast stormwater pits ranging from 900x900 to 1650x900, with single grates and lintel openings,ensuring efficient water flow management.
ADDITIONAL WORKS
• Excavation and removal of rock & Benching for pits of various sizes.
• Removal and replacement of existing stormwater lines, pits, and kerbs.
The result of the 4th and 10th Avenue, Austral project was the successful completion of a comprehensive stormwater drainage system that effectively manages water flow across both avenues. The installation of reinforced concrete pipes, precast pits, and subsoil works ensured a durable and efficient drainage solution that met all environmental and safety standards.
